This Privacy Policy applies to the information The FIGS Awesome Humans Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (“Foundation,” “we,” “our,” “us”), collects and processes about you. Information required to apply for our grants, which may include video submissions, financial information, and other written materials, depending on the specific requirements of the grant.
Payment information, which our payment processor service providers process on our behalf, as we do not directly process your payment information.
Customer service interaction information, such as comments, requests, and questions submitted to us through online forms or email or recordings of calls when you call customer service.
Other information, including information that you voluntarily provide to us.

The Foundation may use the information we collect in the following ways:
To provide the services you have requested, such as registering for our grant opportunities that support healthcare professionals and making a donation to the Foundation.
To communicate with you, for example, communicating with you about grant opportunities and donations, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies; as well as, in accordance with applicable law, sending you marketing messages about events and other information that may be of interest to you.
To improve our Services, including bug detection and error reporting, to understand how users interact with our Services, improve usability and effectiveness of our website, and perform research and analytics.
For our operations, including offering grant opportunities to support healthcare professionals, to receive donations, to make donations, and for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance, such as detecting security incidents and protecting against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity.
Other purposes for which we seek your consent. We may also use your information for a specific purpose that we communicate to you. We will ask for your consent to process your information for such purpose in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

To Analytics Providers: We disclose information about you to our analytics provider to help us better understand your use of the Services and customize the Services.
Protection of the Foundation and others: We may disclose the information we collect about you if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to: (a) comply with legal process (for example, a subpoena or court order); (b) enforce our terms of service or sale, this Privacy Policy, or other contracts with you, including investigation of potential violations; (c) respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties; or (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the Foundation or others.

Our Services are intended for general audiences and are not directed at children. If we become aware that we have collected data without legally valid parental consent from children under an age where such consent is required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it as soon as possible.

Please note that we do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similar effects based solely on the automated processing of your information. Sale/Targeted advertising opt out rights
Under the laws in certain US jurisdictions, you also have the right to opt out of our processing or sharing of your information for online targeted advertising purposes. Note that certain state laws also allow you to opt out of the “sale” of your information to third parties in exchange for valuable consideration. We and our third-party partners may use cookies and similar technology to process information about your activities on our Services to help us market and advertise our Services, including on other sites and services, and analyze the performance of our ads. Marketing choices
You can opt out of receiving marketing emails from us by following the instructions at the bottom of the email. Please note that your request will take some time to process, in accordance with applicable law. After you opt out, you will still receive transactional communications from us regarding your account or important legal information. “Shine the Light” (California Only)
California residents can also request a list of all the third parties to which we have disclosed certain personal information (as defined by California’s Shine the Light law) during the preceding year for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes, unless we maintain a policy of allowing California residents to either affirmatively authorize such disclosures or opt out of such disclosures. However, we do not currently disclose your personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Information for International Users
We may transfer, store, and/or process your information to third parties (such as trusted service providers and partners in locations around the world, including the United States) for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Wherever your information is transferred, stored or processed by us, we take reasonable steps to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
